When I heard about Tayseer and their holistic approach to Islamic education – having that spirituality, pure academics, and sense of activism – it really made everything fall into place.

For me, Tayseer was a strong facilitator for my emotional, spiritual, and physical growth. I haven’t had a spiritual fellowship this good in years.

Tayseer was a chance to reset and get away from the world without running away from it. It was a chance to get a solid footing in the path to Allah while learning the integrals of my deen in a holistic way.

At its core, it’s very simple. The curriculum is meant to make you practice what you learn. Tayseer gives you that environment. It gives you the resources. It meets you where you’re at.

Tayseer has taught me that Islam is liberation from our lowly selves, and from the injustices that plague communities. As His vicegerent, everything I do must be focused on attaining God’s pleasure and His countenance in the afterlife.

To me, Tayseer is a home away from home. It is where you establish connection and relationships, that will not only last many years to come, but till the akhira, insha’Allah. Tayseer is a blessing.

It was such a blessing from Allah to worship Him and seek sacred knowledge alongside my peers, who became my closest friends. I often find myself yearning for that companionship for the sake of Allah. After Tayseer, my goal has been to serve the community by reflecting on what is most needed. I didn’t want to work in just any career to pay the bills, but in a field that brings me closer to Allah and allows me to serve the Muslim community.

I miss the tranquility I felt every time I stepped into the building. It felt as if all the chaos and distractions of the dunya just melted away every morning as I walked into the building at 7:50am for Dhikr.

There is a profound beauty in how our shared acts of worship and remembrance brought our hearts closer together, and it is this bond, forged through faith and futuwwah, that I cherish most. I believe the implications of my time at Tayseer Seminary are still unfolding, and its impact will resonate with me for years to come. I often find myself revisiting my books on suluk and hadith, looking over the notes I scrawled in the margins, and reflecting on the imparted lessons. Tayseer is not merely a chapter to be closed upon graduation—it’s a continual journey. The sense of being deeply connected to the larger Tayseer community persists, offering both inspiration and accountability. This ongoing entanglement with such a purposeful and supportive community is something I find beautiful.

I was able to study sacred texts such as the Quran, Seerah, and Hadith with teachers whose knowledge was only surpassed by their character. The inclusion of topics like mental health and sacred activism brought a holistic perspective to my understanding of what it means to be a Muslim in America. What truly left a lasting impression, though, was the serene and rigorous learning environment. My time at Tayseer gave me the tools to integrate knowledge, spiritual practice, and transformative living into every facet of my personal and professional life. Tayseer became the compass of my life. It centered my priorities and gave me a clear purpose: to worship Allah with every moment, striving for excellence as exemplified by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The lessons I learned at Tayseer lit a fire in me to continue seeking and practicing knowledge, with the ultimate goal of beautifying my life and the lives of those around me.

I miss the tarteeb (routine) of the seminary the most, and being in a constant state of learning.

Everything about my life has changed – Graduating Tayseer became a landmark moment in my life.
