The Living Legacy of the Prophet ﷺ
The Shamā’il of Imam at-Tirmidhi is more than just a collection of hadith— it is an intimate portrait of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, painted through the loving observations of those who knew him best.
Through these carefully preserved descriptions, we learn of his noble character, his daily habits, his physical appearance, and his interactions with those around him. This blessed text has served for centuries as a means for Muslims to develop a deeper, more personal connection with the Prophet ﷺ.
Shama'il Week
As an annual event often held in Rabīʿ al-Awwal, students read along with Dr. Hassan Lachheb the entirety of Ash-Shamāʾil al-Muḥammadiyya — A Portrait of the Prophet ﷺ compiled by Imam al-Tirmidhi.
Students and community members truly live with the Prophet ﷺ as they immerse themselves in his beautiful attributes and daily life, learning about all the small details that define his character and make him our Beloved ﷺ.
