A Growing Community of Scholars

xTayseer Seminary is blessed with a growing alumni network spanning over 20 states. Our students come from diverse educational, professional, and life backgrounds, bringing a wide range of experiences into the classroom.
Graduates leave Tayseer with renewed resolve and deeper conviction in their faith and vocation. Many continue to serve their communities in meaningful ways, delivering khutbahs, leading halaqas, mentoring youth, and supporting local masajid. Others go on to serve as college and prison chaplains, pursue advanced Islamic studies, or dedicate themselves to careers rooted in service and community leadership.
Through their work, our alumni embody Tayseer's mission: cultivating sound Islamic scholarship, rooted in tradition, formed through righteous companionship, and lived in service to community.

Voices from Our Alumni

Ismael Mamdu

Class of 2017
Lawyer • New York
Those who know me personally, know that Tayseer completely changed my life for the better. I came as a curious but lost young man who was thirsty for mentorship and spiritual guidance. I left an awakened, centered, and inspired man devoted to sharing the beauty Allah instilled in my heart through Tayseer Seminary.

Sabriyya Shaw

Class of 2022
Islamic Studies teacher at Pleasant View School, Memphis, TN
Tayseer really emphasized for us to live a life in which we are in service to the ummah of the Prophet ﷺ in some way. It really made me consider what I prioritize in life and to think outside of myself, to think about what I can do that will be of benefit to the community.

Safiyah Chowdhury

Class of 2022
Physician Assistant Studies, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), Long Island, NY
I try to embody what our teachers at Tayseer taught us: any opportunity to serve is a blessing from Allah and it should be done with excellence.

Ola Chaic

Class of 2023
Berkeley, California, Liberal Arts and Islamic Studies with a concentration in Arabic, at Zaytuna College.
My time at Tayseer Seminary instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility toward serving my community and shaped my aspiration to pursue a career in social work. One of the most significant lessons I took away was the importance of sourcing knowledge from traditional scholarship and grounding my efforts in authentic and time-tested principles. This has been a guiding force in my personal and professional growth.

Dalia Rakha

Class of 2019
MS Environmental Engineering, Knoxville, TN
I found that my experience at Tayseer had profoundly impacted how I saw my own field and what I hoped to do with my life. My teachers had challenged me to question how the light of Islam could bring about justice in every part of society. And when I looked at my work through this lens, I began to see so many more layers: that environmental justice cannot exist without Allah because who truly brings or knows justice without Him? That conservation in Islam is not the preservation of “natural resources” because they are scarce or valuable, but because they are Divine gifts that are inherently worthy of our protection as stewards of this Earth.

Safia Chowdhury

Class of 2020
Second grade teacher at Ohio Ihsan Academy
I currently teach at a small Islamic school in Columbus, Ohio, and every day I am reminded of what I learned at Tayseer. Each morning, my class and I begin the day with dhikr. When teaching Islamic studies, I often refer back to Hadith we studied in the Shamail. When I notice my students feeling overwhelmed, I do salawat with them to help ease their anxiety. Tayseer not only guided me in choosing my career and realigning my goals, but it also continues to impact my daily teaching as I help my students strive to be the best Muslims they can be.
